If you're reading this it means you're (also) dedicated to the cause of getting cricketers together for the Terminators team for this semi-season's last hurrah at Yandina Park. I'm afraid to point out I've sensed a very early sense of defeatism which belies our true ability as a team. Sure a score of 4/19 might extrapolate to 48 runs total but FORGET THIS. We gotta think we can build big-time partnerships now. We've shown ourselves capable before and we can pull this off boys.
We actually *DO* have numbers. I can supply recruits for if
~
So here's the go
C. Wilson (at the wicket)
B. Cumming (at the wicket)
B. Stace
M. Kanowski
S. Pollock
C. McAndrew
& a number 11
So here are the candidates (IMHO in order of appropriateness)
1. Damo. This guy doesn't have an average and boasts scores of 62n.o. and about 40n.o. for us last season. Though it must be said he's a blue-sky option cos he's probably in Gladstone.
2. Fred. A no-show in week 1, it's yet to be seen as to whether he can bat as well as he can bowl.
3. Another Michael guy I know. Big, tall and strong lad who responds well when put under the pump.
4. Jeff. Another guy I know who's a bit older but a wise head and can play good cricket.
5. Mark - my old man. He's pretty fearless and has a score of 2.n.o. to his name so extrapolate that however you like.
Sorry if I've overlooked anyone; just going off the emails and I think deciding on the last member shouldn't be taken lightly... Macca pls confirm (by Monday if possible) if Damo can play.
Also Stace - can you make it? One of the luxuries of batting now is that people don't have to stress *toooo* much about getting there on time (except for the batsmen and, well, we at least need scorers) but let's be accountable regarding our whereabouts so that we don't end up calling emergencies in and then telling them they're not required when people do rock up.
Also my phone number is 0424 697 799.
Also captaincy - I imagine Bruce could take this role in lieu of both Woolleys' absences? Should be an easy gig since we'll be batting all day (right guys?).
I reckon on this blog we can have arrived on a decision on our line-up by this Wednesday. Comments from all are encouraged.
Cheers,
Mick K
